The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 93, Labor Committee is chaired by Master Deputy Gus Marinoni. The Labor Committee is responsible for handling inquiries from members related to labor relations issues, workplace issues, member representation during investigations or disciplinary proceedings, grievances, contractual matters, and collective bargaining. The Labor Committee is always working for our 1,200 members and assists them with advice, representation, counsel, and, in some cases, legal representation.
The Labor Committee is most known for its work on the labor contract between the Orange County Sheriff and FOP Lodge 93. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) outlines the conditions in which the agency and its covered bargaining groups must be governed. The CBA supersedes the agency policies if ever there is a conflict between the two. The agency can change policy when it deems necessary; however, the agency cannot change the CBA with FOP 93 without bargaining. The CBA is typically re-negotiated every two to three years, or before the CBA is due to expire.
